Hey there cute pregnant mama, feeling nervous about breastfeeding?
I don't even know where to start! I want to tell you so much but if it did it would end up being a book! This breastfeeding handbook was a long time coming. There were a lot of things in my breastfeeding journal that lead to its creation and I want to share my story and how I came to creating this breastfeeding handbook with you! To start off lets start at the beginning back in October of 2016. I found out that we were expecting, (with the cutie in the picture above) and I was over the moon with excitement. My pregnancy was fairly easy and normal for the most part.

However, I was so focused, overwhelmed and stressed on what needed to get done before our baby came that I TOTALLY forgot about things that I should be prepare and learned about when our baby came. Things such as breastfeeding, pumping, how to store milk, what Mastitis is and so many other unknowns that didn't even cross my mind.

So, like most moms I learned right in the thick of it. It is easy to think about the "now" but you are usually not prepared for the "future". There were so many nights where my milk supply was low, my baby was hungry, crying, and I felt like a horrible mom. I was calling my mom, my mother-in-law and searching on the internet at 2 in the morning on how to quickly increase my milk supply.

Just thinking about that moment again brings a lot of anxiety and stress. I wish I would have learned about common breastfeeding challenges, how to get a good latch, different breastfeeding positions and products to help me through the first month. Truth be told, the first month is HARD!

Our daughter was done breastfeeding at 14 months old. Once again I ran into another problem. I had no clue when it came to weaning from breastfeeding. I heard horror stories of moms who got Mastitis and had to go the the ER and put on probiotics and all of those stories created even more anxiety!

After, I had successfully weaned our daughter from breastfeeding. BTW I didn't get a a single clogged milk duct or mastitis during the 14 months I nursed our daughter woohoo!. Now, that I was done breastfeeding I wished there was something out there that could have prepared me and helped me more. Sure I could have gone to a lactation consultant but honestly, that didn't even cross my mind but I also wanted something that I could read and re-read over and over. Something that I had on hand all of the time, so that when I was in a situation I could refer back to it.

I wasn't able to find anything that covered the situations and challenges I was in during my breastfeeding journey.

So, what did I do? Well I created it! I took everything myself and other moms wish they would have known and put it all together in one place! This breastfeeding handbook took months to put together because I didn't want to leave anything out! I wanted to make sure any mom who is planning to breastfeeding would feel prepared before hand and during her own breastfeeding journey she would have something right at her finger tips.

I am so excited to be able to share the Breastfeeding Handbook with you today! My goal for this handbook is that it will help prepare you before and during your breastfeeding journey!
